Planning for this project commenced in 2013 with the first restoration session commencing September 2014.  Since then, the project sees volunteers from the Ferrymead Rotary Club, MtPleasant Residents Association and local residents attend regularly to plant, mulch, prune and weed.  Inez Grim as the volunteer coordinator and CCC park ranger Matt Rose to supervise and guide the volunteers have since 2014 achieved a massive increase in vegetation and birdlife.
