DESCRIPTION:Prepare to get dirty!Help us carry shells out to one the McCormacks Bay islands to prepare it for this seasons gull nesting.\n \n  \nTarāpuka Black billed gulls are declining and prefer a vegetation free environment for nesting. After last year’s successful trial\, resulting in a successful breeding season\, we’re keen to go out again to cover the islands with shells!\nWear clothing and footwear that you don’t mind getting muddy\, tie up shoes that won’t get stuck in the\n mud rather than gumboots will be best.\nWe’ll provide the sacks and shells followed by a sausage sizzle at the end. The shells are heavy so if you have an old boogy board or something to drag them along you’re welcome to try it out.\nMeet on McCormacks Bay Road at 12pm.\nThanks to Christchurch City Council for their support and the shells for this project.
