An interview with Elizabeth Stuart-Jones. Part of the Avon-Heathcote Estuary Ihutai Trust 2009 Oral History Series.
Elizabeth was known as the “Mother of the Estuary” when she was the secretary and driving force of the community Group ” the Friends of the Estuary” which disbanded in about 2000 and members amalgamated with the Estuary Trust.
She lived in a home overlooking the estuary which she dearly loved and appreciated and has contributed greatly to the where the estuary is today; a wetland of “International Importance”.
