Water quality and ecological Health assessment of Mugford Drain in Christchurch.

The Estuary Trust awarded this research project as a scholarship to Ella Peoples conducted over the 2024 Summer months.  Mugford Drain  is the latest wetland restoration project conducted by the Trust volunteers and supervised by CCC council Park Ranger division. From a red zoned area covered in Fennel, this area is starting to see signs of looking like a wetland again. Conducting a baseline health assessment will assist with future planning for the wetland as well as providing evidence of restoration success in a few years.
